Bob Holt began his voice acting career in the late 1960s, later taking on such diverse roles as Hoot Kloot (1973-1974), Great Grape Ape (1977), Avatar in Ralph Bakshi’s Wizards (1977), Ming the Merciless in Filmation’s Flash Gordon (1982) and Shadow Demon from Dungeons & Dragons.  It has to be said that Bob’s voice was perfect for the Hulk, instilling just the right amount of force and anger that the character needed for perhaps the best, most pure interpretation of the character in any medium.  His mighty Hulk stock roars even ended up in other Marvel productions, such as Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends and Transformers: The Movie.  Bob’s career was sadly cut short when he died of a heart attack in 1985 at the age of 56.
