This one has gotten even better with age. As a kid I couldn't figure out for the life of me why they
made an episode with the Red Skull but WITHOUT Captain America. It almost seemed as though
it should be taboo. I'm past that now. THIS ONE ROCKS! Great story, great dialogue...and a cool
new character: Hiawatha Smith! Over twenty years ago it paid tribute to a popular movie of it's time,
now it pays tribute to an all-time CLASSIC movie. Give writer Dennis Marks credit for recognizing
the greatness and longevity of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK.
I never saw ‘Quest of the Red
Skull’ as a child and although I am not as crazy about it as Jon I still think
that it is quite a good episode. It has a real sense of adventure about it
and like Jon mentioned, it’s great that it pays tribute to ‘Raiders Of The
Lost Ark.’ I do love the fact that we got to see Iceman and Firestar
transform back into Bobby and Angelica at the end of the episode; a rarity in
any superhero cartoon show!
I don't think it gets any better than this.
I mean this one is over the top adventure with
probably the most evil Marvel Super-Villain: the Red Skull. I still get chills up my spine when
Hiawatha tries to escape only to find The Red Skull blocking his exit.
Again you have the
Spider-Friends racing the Red Skull to try and stop him from getting the Nazi Treasure and
Weapons arsenal. In the end they save the world from complete nuclear destruction and get home
in time to go to class. Yes this is the kind of adventure you wait to see on these
shows. Also has
the funniest scene in the series as Spidey pretends to be Tarzan and annoys Firestar so much she
melts his webbing mid-swing causing him to crash land. That scene is a riot!
