Having
the Incredible Hulk guest star was a great surprise. Mysterio is
a great Spidey baddie as well. Only thing is how many times have
we seen the old director makes a movie and lures the superhero there only
to really be trying to get revenge and kill the hero? Well this time
the director was more of a pawn but still not a good guy. When Iceman
suddenly sprayed the robot Honey Dove he wasn't positive she was a robot
was he? Would have been an awful mistake. But alas it is just
a cartoon and this one still does a great job of entertaining so good deal.
Only trouble is: Peter is supposed to be a genius and even the most ethical
genius probably would have asked for more money to not just catch up the
mortgage but to completely pay it off and after 20 years we see that truly
a Spider-Man movie is a guaranteed blockbuster.
I
completely agree with you Mark. The Hulk was enough to make me love
this one as a kid...and it's still fun. I love the fact that this
is a tip of the hat to some classic Spidey comic books. A well deserved
appearance by Mysterio makes this a pretty solid episode. Goofy fun
but it's missing some of the witty dialogue that is prevalent in so many
other episodes. Strange fact that someone mentioned to me:
Bruce Banner is never called by name in this entire episode.
For curiosity's sake, I asked the writer, Christy Marx, if there was a
reason but she didn't know of one. Weird.
I completely agree with Mark and Jon; it was great to see the
Hulk and Mysterio makes a good villain but like Jon mentioned, I think it lacks
some of the wit present in so many of the other episodes. Still a solid
and enjoyable story. On a side note, this episode first aired in the UK on
the day of my very first tap dancing lesson. When I arrived home from
class I was mortified to discover that I had missed almost the entire episode
and I made my mind up then and there never to go back to dance class!
